UNIVERSITY CENTER – In response to the changing situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Delta College has announced that they will remain online only for the rest of the winter semester.

College president Jean Goodnow stated in an email to students that the face-to-face closure will now last through Friday, May 1.

“We are working with faculty coordinators in the career programs on how best to meet educational needs that require clinicals, access to labs or other necessary hands on instruction,” Goodnow said in the email.

If conditions regarding the coronavirus outbreak improve enough for Governor Gretchen Whitmer to lift the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order in April, these outstanding issues will be addressed on campus.

A clear set of guidelines on course withdrawals, drops and incompletes is being worked on for students that may need it. Students are encouraged to check Delta’s coronavirus web page for updates on this matter, as well as staff contact information.

“Thank you for your patience as we work through our educational process,” said Goodnow. “This is a semester like no other and we are uncertain how things will end. However, you are not alone.”

The campus and all learning centers remain closed to the public at this time.
