If you are a student chasing behavioral health credentials and interning at these approved spots in Michigan, you could be in the running for financial support.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is looking for proposals for a student internship stipend program. This opportunity is free, but you must be registered through the SIGMA Vendor Self-Service System (VSS). The deadline to apply is Friday, Jan. 30th, at 1:50 p.m.
MDHHS plans to make behavioral health services more accessible to Michigan families. So, they are extending an invitation to a program that provides financial support to student interns in Michigan’s public behavioral health system.
Why? To boost the behavioral health workforce by assisting college students with internship opportunities. Eligible organizations include community mental health agencies, prepaid inpatient health plans, Indian health services/ tribal places/ urban Indian clinics, and even public schools.
MDHHS also encourages organizations that know the ropes of internship programs – or are familiar with Michigan’s behavioral healthcare scene – to spread the word and encourage others who may qualify to apply.
