Three music festivals in Michigan to check out this summer

By Vincent Khan

Looking to make memories this summer while listening to some of your favorite genres of music live? Check out these three festivals coming to Michigan!

Mo Pop Festival

Detroit, MI

July 30-31

Detroit’s beloved Festival returns at the end of July, but it’s more than a festival. Taking place at the Hart Plaza in Detroit, it’s a music festival and more of a Detroit hangout experience. During the festival week, there will be “Fleatroit Junk City” during the festival week, ” a pop-up flea market filled with Detroit’s finest pickers, junk searchers, collectors, and vintage home decor fanatics. A craft bazaar will also occur during the festival week featuring thousands of handmade goods made by local Detroit craftspeople. There will also be an arcade and a shipyard to get food and drinks, which will feature some of Detroit’s best local good eats. For convenience, there will be a bike parking lot area. It will be a FREE and monitored area near the entrance of the Festival. Music-wise, headlining the Festival will be Glass Animals, along with performances from Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, Kaytranda, Horsegirl, Beach Bunny, and Dayglow. In my opinion, this Detroit festival is the perfect little Festival to get away to this summer. It is guaranteed beautiful weather in the middle of summer with many attractions and activities other than the music to kill time in a big city.

Faster Horses Country Festival

Brooklyn, MI

July 22-24

Picture being surrounded by nothing but beer, American flags, and country music for three days straight. If that makes you smile, then this July 2022, you can travel to the infield of Michigan International Speedway and have the best time of your life. Faster Horses brings around 35,000-40,000 people into this massive  NASCAR track infield every year. Bring your camper, a grill, hell, maybe even an inflatable pool, and just party the whole time. This year expects music from the country’s biggest stars such as Tim McGraw and Jake Owen. Make sure to wear red, white, and blue to fit in a bit better and bring plenty of friends because the festival is a long 2 miles around. This festival is truly 72 hours of trademarked midwest fun.
