Signed and dined: Gov. Snyder ratifies water relief bill for Flint at Michigan Press luncheon

On Friday, Jan. 29, Gov. Rick Snyder addressed the press and signed a $28 million relief bill to aid Flint residents with things like filters, school nurses and children’s’ health assessments. Legislators and journalists were gathered at Amway Grand in downtown Grand Rapids to watch the signing during the Michigan Press Association’s annual convention.

“Let’s stand up together as Michiganders and say, ‘Mistakes were made. Problems happen. We’re gonna solve ‘em. And we’re gonna fix ‘em. And we’re going to be better and stronger by doing things in the future. And have our voice being the voice leading the dialogue and the discussion. That’s what we should be doing,” says Gov. Snyder.
