Ye, fka Kanye West, is ready to premiere a new album in Italy on Oct. 27. Frequent collaborators Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, and Ty Dolla Sign are also set to make an appearance at the RCF arena in Italy.
Ye, was supposed to have the concert on Oct. 13 along with a single releasing that same day. These plans never came to be for reasons not yet disclosed to the public. Many believe that this is on purpose because this is repeated behavior by Ye. He has a long history of announcing an album to come out on a date and will then delay it for months. Die hard fans of Ye assume that this is all for the sake of building up as much attention as possible.
Rumors and leaks online are speculating that West will be dropping not one, but two albums after his concert in Italy. A solo album, and then a collab album with rapper Ty Dolla Sign. Their collaboration album was confirmed by Ty Dolla Sign when he posted a now-deleted video on his Instagram of him and Ye talking about their album and how everyone knows it exists, and that they should just drop it. Very little information is known about Ye’s solo album other than word of mouth from Ye’s circle saying that it at least exists and that it is planned to be a surprise drop.
One year ago, Ye was facing heavy scrutiny by mainstream media after he expressed many anti- semitic opinions on camera and in tweets. Those statements lost him many fans and business partnerships, most notably his one with Adidas where their joint company Yeezy was valued at six billion dollars.
Controversy surrounds West’s name often and many believe that releasing an album just under a year after these antisemitic remarks is a bit insensitive. West has accumulated 24 Grammys throughout his music career. The most all time by a rapper.
