UNIVERSITY CENTER-The Fall Choralscapes Concert is making a grand return to Delta College after a hiatus due to COVID. The concert is scheduled for Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in Lecture Theater G160 on the main campus.

“Our Fall Choralscapes Concert is usually in November, and almost always the week before Thanksgiving,” said Timothy Hendrickson, the director of choral activities. “This is to allow us ample time to rehearse the pieces selected for each ensemble.”

Hendrickson shared that all ticket proceeds go toward the Delta College Chorale Program concert attire and travel expenses.

The Delta College Chorale is one of the groups performing in the concert.

“The Delta College Chorale is the largest mixed soprano, alto, bass, and tenor ensemble at Delta College,” Hendrickson said. “The Chorale performs a wide variety of literature from all musical periods.”

The Delta College Chamber Choir will accompany the Chorale. The Choir is a 12-16  voice vocal chamber ensemble that performs literature expressly written for small chamber vocal groups, shared Hendrickson.

The last group that will perform is the Jazz Singers.

“The Delta College Jazz Singers is a 12-16 voice vocal jazz ensemble that performs a wide variety of vocal music including Jazz and Pop standards, as well as Broadway and Gospel selections,” Hendrickson said about the Jazz Singers.

The music featured in the concert is Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo by Franz Joseph Haydn along with the Delta College Chorale and Chamber Choir, as well as the Jazz Singers.

Tickets are $10. For more information, contact timothyhendrickson@delta.edu.
