Delta College receives military friendly campus designation

UNIVERSITY CENTER – For the eighth year in a row, Delta College has been listed as a military friendly community college by Victory Media.

Universities and colleges in the United States that devote resources to ensuring the success of military students, both in and out of the classroom, are selected to receive the designation.

Drew Ornelas, veteran services coordinator at Delta College, stated in a Feb. 12 press release: “This designation shows future student veterans that Delta is committed to helping them make a successful transition from the military to the civilian world.”

One of Delta’s key benefits offered for student veterans is they pay the lower in-district tuition rate, regardless of where they live.

More than 1,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. were surveyed by Victory Media and 625 were chosen for the Military Friendly School designation this year. Schools were evaluated based on public data sources and survey responses, as well as student survey data.

As announced in the press release, www.militaryfriendly.com has included Delta College in their list of military friendly schools for 2020-2021. This list will be published in the May issue of G. I. Jobs magazine.
