Nintendo switches up gameplay

Nintendo is on top of its game–no pun intended. Regardless of the year, Nintendo is constantly taking over the gaming world, coming out with revolutionary devices that change the way that gamers look, feel, and experience their video games – and this year proves to be no different.

Nintendo has recently released a small glimpse at their newest gaming console, the Nintendo Switch.

This gaming experience is one that you’ve most likely felt with this brand before, but with one major change – the system allows its gamers to play the same game wherever, whenever, and with whomever that they choose.

Much like the Wii, your device will rest comfortably on a dock when ready for at home use, being able to be plugged in and used from the comfort of your living room, game room, bedroom, etc. As soon as you plan to make your device mobile, it’ll switch into portable mode, allowing you to take your game on the road to travel with you.

“I think the gaming experience is going to be so different and it’s a great move from Nintendo,” says Delta student and gamer Miguel Reed.

Joy-Con controllers detach from both sides of the Nintendo Switch, so when you’re on the go, a single player could use both Joy-Con controllers, or in two player mode, each gamer could have one. Separate Joy-Con controllers can be bought to allow numerous gamers to get together for a variety of gameplay options.

“The mobility of it gives a great opportunity for friends to connect through gaming without having to stay at home,” says Reed, “Instead of having to be crammed in a basement at home with a Wii U or a GameCube, you can take this cool compact new console and set it down anywhere and play.”

Players can also use a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller instead of the Joy-Con controllers, which allows gamers to bring together their Nintendo Switch systems to enjoy multiplayer face-to-face gaming competitions.

“Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like,” says Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO of Nintendo of America, “It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries.”

“Full game demonstrations, the list of launch window titles, as well as launch date, price, product configuration and related specifics, will be shown and announced prior to the March launch,” says Nintendo’s official website.
