Delta College students are coming together for a Backyard Issues Forum to discuss local concerns with government officials. This event will be divided between two dates and locations and will cover a wide variety of issues that have been identified by students.
The first campaign will be held on Oct. 16 on the Delta Downtown Midland Center in room 100. The event begins at 12 p.m. and includes a student issue awareness campaign and decision maker panel. Some of the relevant issues that will be discussed include healthcare, gun policy, and housing costs.
The second event will be held on Delta’s Main Campus on Oct. 18 in room N007 and begins at 1 p.m. This campaign includes student issue awareness, and decision maker panels. Some of the relevant topics this forum will discuss include drug abuse, homelessness, harsher punishment for sex offenders, and regulations of pet breeding practices.
