The Saginaw Spirit returned home from their Eastern Conference road-trip with one victory out of a possible three, after leading in each game.
On Thursday, against the Peterborough Petes, the Spirit entered the second period leading 3-2 before giving up three straight goals to end the second behind 5-4. The Spirit attempted to make the comeback, but would fall short with the Petes winning 8-6.
Friday, against the Kingston Frontenacs, it would be more of the same. The Spirit ended the first period up 4-1 but would capitulate in the second, giving up four goals to enter the third tied 5-5. The teams traded goals in the third, sending the game to overtime knotted at 6-6. The game ended in a shootout, with the Spirit losing 7-6.
After an off day Saturday, the Spirit met the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday. The 67’s would strike first scoring just over five minutes into the first period. The Spirit respond four minutes later and would have control of the rest of the game. They scored six more goals and came away with a 7-2 win.
