With the election heating up, Senator Bernie Sanders came to Michigan to express his support and excitement for Democratic nominee Harris-Walz running for the presidency. On Saturday, Oct. 5, Bernie Sanders made his appearance at a town hall event held at Saginaw Valley State University. While there, he spoke about his policies, beliefs and support for Harris-Walz. Curtiss Hall rang with cheers in admiration for Sanders and his speech. Attendees young and old were full of hope.

“When you are the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth, what you say matters, and you  can’t lie all the time,” Sanders exclaimed, speaking about Donald Trump. “Mike pence is a very conservative guy,” Sanders said, “he worked with Trump every single day, and he said Trump is not fit to be president of the United States.” Sanders then started to name infamous conservative Republican figures, such as Dick and Liz Cheney, who do not like Donald Trump, instead endorsing Kamala Harris.

“…and that takes us back to this election, which is in fact the most consequential election in  modern American history,” Sanders said. “It is absolutely imperative that in the next four and a half weeks, that every person in this room does everything that he or she can do, to get folks to come out to the polls to elect Kamala Harris as our next president.”
