I think most can agree that there is nothing quite as stressful as the year of an election and the 2024 election is no exception. Tension becomes high and relationships can be torn apart. Information is flooding in from every corner and no one knows what to believe. Is this fake news? Is “fake news” only a ploy used when a party isn’t getting their way? Can we trust what is being reported from the people who are supposed to find the truth? I don’t think I am alone when I say that I am confused, lost, and over an election that I still feel as if I know nothing about.
So, I decided it was time to dig into some books that could help! Now, I will say that I am a college student and therefore am usually low on funds. With that being said, all the books I have found are available on Kindle Unlimited if you subscribe to it for free and are also on Amazon for low prices. I went through each book to ensure they were nonpartisan and were simply made to inform the public and make the election process easier to understand. Here are just a few books that I felt might make this stressful time of year just a little easier.
America’s Election Handbook 2024
- An overview of the election
- Author has an undergraduate in mathematics and a master’s in business administration
- This is like an election guide
- An impartial analysis of project 2025
- The author is a writer/researcher for politics/government
- Makes project 2025 easy to understand for the public
How to Talk Politics Without Arguing
- Author has a bachelor’s in political science and double minored in history and journalism
- A how to “agree to disagree” guide
- Perfect to lower the tension in the holiday family and friend debates
I hope these books make the election just a little less stressful and keep the tension low with your loved ones. Remember that the presidential election season is only every four years, so this too shall pass.
