Midland’s annual Festifall, a community wide event celebrating the fall season, took place in a downtown parking garage due to rain on Oct. 1.
Lacey Todd, Midland’s event coordinator, says she’s very excited for the new event. “This event will feature a lot of the great activities people enjoyed about Pumpkin Festival with some new and exciting things thrown in as well,” says Todd.
The Festifall kicked off with kids’ activities including a bounce house, a costume contest, human foosball, an arts and crafts tent and laser tag.
“We had a great time, and would like to say thank you to all who were involved,” says attendee Amanda Blackhurst.
Woody’s Taproom, a tent on top of the parking garage, provided live music from Detroit’s band The Square Pegz.
Northwood’s International Auto Show ran the same weekend as the Festifall, and they used that to their advantage. A shuttle ran from downtown Midland to Northwood’s auto show from the beginning of the event until 6 p.m.
“We felt there was a great opportunity to have a Downtown Midland festival the same weekend as Northwood’s International Auto Show,” says Todd. Lots of other Michigan businesses like Johnson’s Giant Pumpkins, Leuter Insurance Group, Ace Hardware & Sports, Captured Studios and more all helped in sponsoring the event.
