UNIVERSITY CENTER – Midland has officially announced that all of their city facilities are being closed to the public until April 5, in response to the growing coronavirus epidemic.

The closure takes effect Wednesday, March 18 at 8 a.m. as announced in a press release. Although the doors will be locked to the public, city staff will report for work in their respective departments as scheduled.

The closures include the following buildings:

  • Midland City Hall
  • Municipal Service Center
  • Water Treatment Plant
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • Law Enforcement Center
  • All Midland Fire Department stations

The city government encourages residents to conduct business with staff virtually via phone, email or the city website. If physical access to a building is required, a phone number will be posted at the buildings’ doors.

Public meetings of the city council and boards will be evaluated on a meeting-by-meeting basis during this time period. Meetings that do not have items of critical importance on their agendas will be canceled. Non-critical items that are likely to draw in large crowds will also be postponed.
