How to throw a Super Bowl party
By Hal Reed
The Super Bowl is the most watched event in America. Whether your team is playing or not it’s always a fun time.
Here’s a simple guide on how to throw a Super Bowl party:
- Have a set location
Where are you hosting it? Whether it’s at your house or not, you will need to make sure that you have a TV…duh! Also, having a stable internet connection is always a plus, especially when the broadcast glitches right before a touchdown.
- Decorations
What’s a party without decoration? You can have fun with this and still be super cheap. Go to the dollar store, even though it’s not a dollar anymore, and buy a simple green table cover along with two yellow pool noodles, as well as football themed paper plates, cups and napkins (you can even make them team colors). Grab the pool noodles, cut them in thirds and glue together the pieces in the shape of the goal posts.
- Friends list
You gotta establish who is showing up and how many people. Keep your space in mind because 30 people in a tiny apartment is not the vibe.
- Supply food
Now that you have the friends list, buy the amount of food you’ll need. Start with the basics; wings, beer, pop, chips & dip (check out the best buffalo chicken dip recipe. It will be a HUGE hit) and you never can go wrong with pizza. Now you can have fun with desserts. Football shaped cookies or a themed cookie cake. The best idea is to get cupcakes with the colors of each team.
- Entertainment
Nobody wants the awkward small talk before the game starts which harshes the vibes. Grab a speaker for background music, even throw on the basic white girl playlist which always brings up the energy. Plan party games such as beer pong (only if you are of age) and supply some board games. Trust me, board games will never go out of fashion. Make some friendly bets with different plays and on certain players throughout the game.
Now that you’re prepped and ready to go, plan your own Super Bowl party and play ball!
