Former President Donald Trump holds rally at SVSU: an overview

Former President Donald Trump came to Saginaw Valley State University recently on Oct. 3 to speak about various topics. This would mark his 11th time speaking in Michigan this year. Former President Trump discussed a variety of subjects with the audience, vital topics to the well-being of the people. This was overshadowed by the large audience and their behaviors, leading to fights, distractions and jumping around between topics, claims and accusations.

The former president first walked onto stage with “Proud to be American” pouring out of the speakers as the crowd buzzed with excitement, chanting his name. Acknowledging that Michigan is an agricultural state, he makes his first quick claim.

“No one will be better to the farmer than this former President,” Trump says. From this, he hypes up the audience, encouraging people to pick up early mailing ballots, to get to the voting stations and make their vote known. Without doing this, he says, current Vice President Harris and her running mate Walz will destroy America by continuing to inject “illegal aliens” into the States. Trump claims that if he is voted in he will bring back the “Golden Age” of America.

About 30 minutes into the speech, Trump briefly discusses taxes. In a video he plays for the crowd, it promotes the cutting of taxes. He then discusses why he feels taxes are so high: the ‘green new scam’ and sustainability. The former president feels that the air and water are cleaner than ever, and asks why we need to spend our money on sustainable initiatives when there are no large issues, allegedly, at hand.

The economy is the next topic at hand. To summarize, he speaks on how he feels that under the current presidency, America is relying on foreign countries to do American work, meaning the income and jobs that should be given to U.S. citizens is now going elsewhere. Trump says that he will “create millions and millions of jobs and massively raise wages for American workers and make the United States a manufacturing powerhouse again.”

Trump says he will bring business tax down from 21% to 15% before carrying on to tell the audience Vice President Kamala Harris plans to raise taxes to astronomical levels, and has ideas to push America back into a state of depression. The former president promises that he will cut energy prices down by 50%, claiming that the Vice President is pushing for green energy and that this will only raise energy prices. And in response, Trump says he will ensure fossil fuels and oils are of utmost importance in order to fuel the economy and lower the price of energy for all Americans.

As the speech winds down to an end, fans cheering and shouting in support, Trump summarized his key points. If elected president, he will bring back the American will, making foreign partners work in America if they wish to associate with the U.S. to ensure all products of America are 100% U.S. made. He will support gas fueled vehicles and push away from current movements to switch to an electric-based transportation system. He will reduce taxes by cutting ties with acts like the ‘green scam’ and will ensure that no one can enter the United States who is not legally a citizen.

Unfortunately, the wild energy before getting into the auditorium was too much for some fans as their support turned to anger towards one another. Rowdy folks were spotted fighting outside of the auditorium. The reason for the fight has not been determined yet, but speculators think it was a fight over Trump merchandise. You can watch a full recording of the debate here.
