Many cannot fathom the experiences or even the costs that America’s military veterans have paid serving in the armed forces. That is why Delta College wants to share the opportunities that the Great Lakes Bay Region has to offer to veterans.
The college is holding the Veteran’s Expo on Thursday, Mar. 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. during the annual Job Fair. The event is located along the North side hallway from B Wing to E Wing. The event will be free for all who attend.
There will be 25 service providers at the Vet Expo, ranging in many different services that will help Veterans get back on their feet according to Bethany Alford, Coordinator of Veteran Services.
“My goals, going into this, were on two main areas: quality of life and education for the Veterans. We want to demonstrate commitment by providing resources and we want to make known what is available in the community.”
In addition to the expo, a movie called “Travis: A Soldier’s Story” will be playing in the Lecture Theater (G-160) at 5:30 p.m. The Traveling Michigan Military Museum will also be at the expo.
