Dr. Angela Guy-Lee is receiving the Spirit of MLK award for community contributions at the Martin Luther King Jr. Union Luncheon

Delta College Associate Professor Dr. Angela Guy-Lee will be receiving the Spirit of MLK award Jan. 20 during the annual Martin Luthor King, Jr. Union Luncheon presented by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Delta College Black Faculty and Staff Association.
Dr. Guy-Lee has contributed significantly to the community serving as co-president of the Black Faculty and Staff Association. She has taught at the Saginaw Academy of Excellence since 2022, and developed a course for Delta’s police academy, “Race: A Social Construct,” examining race’s role in U.S. history.
The Unity Luncheon will take place at The Dow Event Center in Saginaw, with this year’s theme, “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence.”
Michigan State Representative Amos O’Neal will deliver the keynote address, and the Unity March will begin at 10 a.m. before the luncheon.
