Delta Pioneers repeat as National Champions

Herkimer, NY – 364 days since their last National Title win last year, the Delta Pioneers are once again NJCAA Division III National Champions. The Pioneers beat the Dallas College Brookhaven Bears on Nov. 16 1-0 in overtime. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Mia Warner played an outstanding game in goal, recording seven saves including a huge stop  in the 6th minute of regulation, saving a penalty kick shot by Brookhaven’s Natalia Banda. Sophomore forward/midfielder Isabella Workman scored the game winning goal in the seventh minute of overtime.

Three members of the team earned all-tournament team selections for their performances: defender Abigail Hendy, midfielder Brooke Swartz and forward Alahna Beckett. Workman was named Offensive MVP while Warner was the overall MVP.

The Pioneers finish their season with a record of 17-0-1. The team conceded an astonishing five goals the entire season, while scoring 106. The Pioneers continued their dominance and proved that this dynasty is here to stay.
