A sea of green caps and gowns filled the floors of the pioneer gym this Friday for Delta’s 54th commencement. The two hour program consisted of singing from the Delta College Chamber Choir, professors and a speech from Delta College president Jean Goodnow.
“I have faith that those futures will be bright and successful,” explained President Goodnow.
To continue with Delta College’s efforts to create a more sustainable environment, they decided to make the graduation gowns 100% from recycled yarn.
Recent graduate Bryce Thompson explained, “It feels good to graduate. When I first started I never saw the end of the road, but now I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It feels great.”
After the graduation service, everyone was invited down to the Red Brix for refreshments and hors d’ oeuvres.
“Graduates we wish you the greatest success in your future endeavors,” explained Vice President of Student and Education Services, Margarita Mosqueda.
