UNIVERSITY CENTER – On Feb. 1, the Delta Pioneers men’s basketball team hosted the Mott Bears.
Delta jumped out to the early lead and held onto it throughout much of the first half. The Pioneers lead at halftime with the score at 39-35.
Delta came out hot, but Mott slowly began to chip away at the lead. Mott eventually took the lead late in the second half.
The game ended on a series of lead changes with Mott taking a 71-69 lead with just under 20 seconds remaining. On the final possession, Goliath Mitchell was stripped of the ball before he could get a shot off.
The final score was 71-69 with Mott Community College coming out on top in Saturday’s nail-biter.
