Amy Klobuchar is in favor of:
- Abolishing the death penalty.
- Mandating paper ballots.
- Raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.
- Increasing broad paid family and medical leave for up to 12 weeks.
- Two years of college being free, expanding or fixing existing debt-relief programs and boosting teacher pay.
- Not allowing unlimited spending in politics.
- Eliminating the electoral college.
- Supporting nuclear power.
- Imposing more strict government regulations on carbon emissions.
- Paying farmers to adopt climate-friendly practices.
- A ban on assault weapons and mandating universal background checks.
- Reducing the number of abortions, but not limiting access to abortions.
- A non-profit public healthcare option, while not eliminating private health insurance.
- Backing additional funding for the wall on the U.S. – Mexico border.
- Legalizing marijuana and scrapping past pot convictions.
- Cutting defense spending while keeping troops deployed overseas.
- Increasing existing taxes on upper-income Americans.
- Companies being taxed for sharing user data, and consider holding companies liable for posts on social media.
