Delta College OIT launches new phone app

If you haven’t heard by now – Delta has a new phone app.

The new app features a cleaner interface where you are able to access grades, registration, course schedules, email, eLearning, news, events, and Delta’s social media accounts.

Charity Hyde, Director of IT Operations at Delta, said that the new app was created so that the user could access Delta website content more easily on their phone.

“[The new app is] meant for easy access for a broad audience,” said Hyde.

The old application that was used was purchased by Ellucian, a software company out of Fairfax, VA.

“[The new app] gives students tools they need at their fingertips,” said Hyde.

Faculty can access their Delta accounts through the app as well.

The decision to remake the app was driven by Vice President Curry and President Goodnow. “It has been in talks to recreate the app for several years’ to ‘bring [the] technology up to date’,” said Hyde.

In order to download the free app, you must first search for “Ellucian GO” in either the Apple Store or Google Play. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you can search for Delta College within the Ellucian Go app. After finding Delta College, you can either swipe right to navigate the app or touch the top left corner of the screen to get to a navigational menu.
