Clean the World week hopes to help students on campus

Imagine not having soap. It’s something so simple, yet living without it can drastically change your life. Imagine not having the pleasure of being clean. For some people they don’t have that pleasure. For some people soap is a luxury. Clean the World week will be taking over the halls of Delta for the first time April 20-23.

From 10 a.m to 1 p.m students will get the chance to help participate in Clean the World week by building hygiene kits that will be available to students at Delta’s Closet. Do you ever wonder what hotels do with leftover products such as shampoo or conditioner?

Well wonder no more! Clean the World week is part of the largest global recycler of hotel amenities with more than 2,000 hotels helping those in need. The hygiene kits will contain, soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, toothpaste, lotion, etc. from partnering places.

“Anyone who walks by can make a kit,” said Heidi Helgren, Associate Professor of Management and Coordinator of Legal Support. Helgren wants to share the importance of this issue. Just the simple act of using soap can prevent the spread of sickness.
