BAY CITY, MI — The Delta College Planetarium in Bay City is set to host a free eclipse viewing event on Oct. 14. Weather permitting, the event kicks off at noon on the planetarium’s rooftop observation deck.
The planetarium’s team, joined by volunteers from the Delta Astronomy Club, will provide specially filtered telescopes for safe eclipse viewing. The pinnacle of the eclipse is expected at 1:02 p.m. with around 34 percent of the sun’s surface obscured by the moon.
Certified eclipse viewers will be available for purchase at the planetarium’s gift shop. The event is open to the public, and planetarium show tickets can be obtained online or on-site.
