MIDLAND – Valentine’s Day is traditionally known as the holiday of love, although its meaning and methods of expression are open to interpretation. For some, it is filled with flowers, chocolates, and romantic dinners. For others, it’s the holiday they love to hate – a reminder of lost love and broken hearts.
If the latter is more your style, then the Midland County Pit Stop, 102.5 WIOG, Emerald Fire Farms, and Drunken Monkey Tattoo had the perfect way for you to honor your crappy ex for Valentine’s Day.
For a $10 donation, WIOG wrote down your ex’s name on a bag filled with dog poop and then set it on fire. For a $20 donation, you were able to light the bag of poop on fire yourself.
Each bag of poop was customized with whatever name you chose, whether that be a crappy ex, crappy in-laws, crappy bosses, crappy jobs, or even your crappy kids!
Crystal Acord, 43, never usually celebrates Valentine’s Day but decided she had to this year when she found out she could light a bag of poop in honor of her crappy ex-job.
“They never cared about my mental health and ultimately brought me down to my lowest,” Acord explained. “I was luckily strong enough to leave that job and find one that truly valued me.”

Acord expressed how important it was for everyone to take care of their mental health. Donating and lighting a bag of poop on fire for her crappy ex-job was one way of doing just that.
All bags of poop with personalized names were put into a heart shape before being set on fire on Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. at Emerald Fire Farms.
Many donors had a great opportunity to exact some sweet, sweet Valentine’s revenge on the crappy person who broke their heart.
Cat Williams donated and said, “This goes out to my crappy ex-boss Dicktina!”
Julie Nelson donated and gave a flaming bag of poop to animal abusers.
Many anonymous donors supported the cause and got to wish a crappy Valentine’s Day to an ex-wife who cheated two weeks into their marriage, to an ex that emotionally drained them and made them feel like they couldn’t be their true self, and many more!
All of the proceeds in this crappy fundraiser went towards Midland County Pit Stop. They raised $933.
Andy Henderson donated and said, “My crappy ex shall remain anonymous but please add a few extra turds for the extreme amount of crappiness I endured!”
