Join SVSU to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

If you are looking to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day in your community, head over to SVSU on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Malcolm Field Theater. 

Saginaw Valley State University has partnered with regional businesses, chambers of commerce, and community foundations to help make this event possible. This free and public event will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his steps toward freedom and equality for all, and his legacy. 

The event will be led by Bakari Sellers, a civil rights activist and author of “My Vanishing Country” and “Who Are You People?” Each text talks about the fight and struggle for diversity, equality, and acceptance in the United States. There will also be presentation of the MLK Scholarship Awards and the Regional Drum Major Awards.Register today to experience this amazing and powerful event for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
